The History of the Modern Gas Mask
The gas mask as many of us discover it currently evolved as a result of innovations over time that have been created for use by deep sea divers, firefighters as well as mine employees. A well known misconception concerning gas mask had been that it was discovered by Garrett A. Morgan in 1914. Morgan’s creation didn’t appear to be anything remotely like the current mask and was simply a hood with a breathing tube that hung to the floor so a firefighter could draw breath from the lower, cleaner layers of air as well as combating a fire. It was later designed for mine rescues where by the tubes are likely to be manipulated in order to avoid flooded mine tunnels or gas filled pockets. The exact challenge of who devised the gas mask is certainly to this day not successfully solved.
