How To Enhance Your Eye Sight Through Diet
What should you eat to help improve your eye sight and vision fitness? This is a complex question. I wish there were a simple formula I could give you. Probably the most effective way for me to make suggestions is to share my personal experiences and experiments. Over the years, I have studied different nutritional approaches to better my own chances for disease prevention and also to increase ray vision-fitness without the need for cheap contact lenses of glasses..
What follows is my personal approach to eating. It is an assimilation of many theories and practical experiences. But first, here are two perspectives that allowed me to be flexible.
A macrobiotic teacher from Japan once said to me; “If you cannot occasionally drink beer or eat red meat, then your body is sick.”
And when questioned about the nutritional principles that contributed to his cancer regression, a cancer patient participating in a natural approach to cancer treatment stated:
“I can eat anything my body wants. When I eat an ice-cream sundae, 1 tell my body to really enjoy the value of this food.”
What then, is my philosophy regarding food? I believe in moderation. I prefer a non-fanatical approach to well-being. Preparing even the simplest meal is like creating a work of art. Eating for me is a joy. Food is sacred to me. I feel that if I am in tune with my body, it’ll let me know what food it desires. Of course, I have to monitor emotional gratification using nutritionally sound principles.
I do the best I can to avoid producing new belief systems about foods. For instance, a report I read claimed that an over consumption of dairy products can lead to a change in the metabolism of the lens of the eye, which may later result in a cataract (clouding of the lens) and suddenly you’re in need of those discount contact lenses again.
