Aerobic Videos

I have been working out with aerobic videos for about a year now, and I firmly believe that if you have the right setup and the right attitude, they work every bit as well as a group aerobics class.  While many people purchase aerobic videos, they are often left to gather dust as soon as the novelty has worn off.  Still others though, use them to propel themselves into a healthier, more successful life.  What makes the difference? How is it that aerobic videos work for some people, but fail miserably for others? Let me explain.

You see, it is not actually about the aerobics videos at all, but about the person watching them. The first and most important difference lies in the personality of the user.  You need to have the proper attitude towards exercise to achieve any degree of success.  That means that from the outset, you need to set reasonable goals and follow a consistent schedule of exercise to help you achieve them, and that is no easy job.  You don't get advice about it from aerobic videos.  It must come from you. The key is to exercise regularly.  Doing each aerobic video twice every third Saturday  won't do it.  Even if you don't make it all the way through your aerobic videos at first, don't get discouraged and give up. No matter how far you get, make it a regular routine and do whatever you can each day or you will not get the best results. You will get hardly any results at all, to be honest.  Make it easier for yourself.  Set attainable goals and don't waver in your dedication.  It is no good telling yourself that you will do a two hour workout with your aerobic videos every day, because you are setting yourself up to fail quickly.  Set small goals, ones you know that you can succeed at, to build confidence, and get into a daily habit, then you can work up to the bigger goals in time.

Just as important, you need to have a decent space in which to do your aerobics workout.  If you live in a cluttered, little apartment with clothing all over the floor, forget it.  You can use some aerobic videos with less space than you might think, but you will need at least a little space to move around in, so put your thinking cap on  to see how you can compact some things, and clear a bit of room, or you will be holding yourself back from reaching your exercise goals, and that would be a shame.  The beginning of your aerobic workout is really setting a time, clearing out a space, and psyching yourself up. Don't expect immediate success from using your aerobic videos.  It will be hard work. But if you push on, within a month you will notice major changes.
